Civic Responsibility Speech Competition Successfully Held in Imphal

The Meitei Alliance successfully conducted the Civic Responsibility Speech Competition today at the GP Women’s College Hall, Imphal, as part of its ongoing educational initiative, My Manipur, My Responsibility.

The event was graced by Prof. W. Chandbabu, VC, DM University as the Chief Guest and Prof. L. Rajen Singh, Principal, GP Women’s College as the Guest of Honour. The competition was evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges: Chongtham NanditaCol. (Retd.) Sapam Shantikumar, Ms. Mangka Mayanglambam, Mr. Raees Ahamed Tampak, and Mr. R.K. Nimai, IAS (Retd.),whose valuable contributions ensured a fair and inspiring competition.

After exceptional performances by all shortlisted participants, the winners were declared as follows:

  • 1st Place: Ms. Wairokpam Bobita Devi, Nongmeibung
  • 2nd Place: Ms. Leisna Diana Aribam, Thangmeiband Lourung Purel
  • 3rd Place: Md. Irshad Ali, Keirao Makting Maning Leikai

We are grateful for the many inspirational and insightful speeches, which we believe will certainly motivate the public and encourage deep reflection toward bringing positive change in our society. 

The Meitei Alliance extends special appreciation to Ms. Hirom Ongbi Bijentimala for generously sponsoring the Third Prize, dedicated in loving memory of her late parents, Akoijam Kalabi and Akoijam Ongbi Thoinu. The Alliance deeply values this gesture of support, which strengthens the mission of promoting civic awareness among the youth of Manipur.

The Civic Responsibility Campaign now moves into its next phase, where Meitei Alliance volunteers will engage withschools, colleges, and universities across Manipur. During these visits, students will be engaged and encouraged to write their personal pledges on civic responsibility, which will be displayed on Pledge Walls in their respective institutions. These walls, prepared and provided by the Meitei Alliance, aim to inspire lasting commitment to integrity, unity, and responsible citizenship.

To make this stage successful, the Meitei Alliance seeks the cooperation and support of the concerned educational authorities, as well as volunteers willing to assist in outreach and engagement activities.

The Meitei Alliance will soon announce the theme and details of the next campaign under My Manipur, My Responsibility. The Alliance remains open for campaign theme suggestions from our wider community and remains committed to guiding the youth of Manipur toward civic responsibility, integrity, and social harmony.
