ADVISORY

Advisory is hereby issued to all the allies of Meitei Alliance on the matter of organising a Global Sit-in Protest on Sunday, 17^th December 2023. The programme is being organised; (a) to assert a collective voice demanding the Government of India to take up adequate measures to protect the life, liberty and property of the people of Manipur and to promote peaceful coexistence, and (b) to make a clear voice together that a communal separate Chin-Kuki administration cannot be created either within Manipur or by disintegrating Manipur. It has been confirmed that the programme will be organised in various cities of India and beyond.

1. How to Organise?

(a) Open Gathering: Organisations that could mobilise large crowd may organise sit-in-protest on public street or open ground or community hall or anywhere to attract media attention and for publicity. Summary of programme along with photo, and audio or video clips may be sent to the Alliance’s secretariat.

(b) Small Closed-door Gathering: Organisations that could not organise big open gathering may organise small closed-door gathering with the least possible number of participants. Summary of programme along with photo, and audio or video clips may be sent to the Alliance’s secretariat.

(c) Family or individual Protest: Family or individual may protest in the name of affiliated organisation. They may hold protest placard or put-up protest slogans on walls or fences or anywhere possible. Summary of their protest along with photo may be sent to the Alliance’s secretariat.

(d) Virtual and Audio Programme: Protest may be virtually organised via internet. It could be a protest talk or lecture with attendees. The event may be photo clicked and sent along with a brief summary to the Alliance’s secretariat.

(e) Any Other Form: Protest has neither a fixed form nor a fixed content. An ally may organise any form of protest it chooses.

2. The Need of Endorsement:

It is advisable that an ally endorses the joint statement, which shall be sent separately.

3. Selection of slogans

It is advisable that allies choose one or more appropriate slogans from the suggested list, which will be sent separately.

4. Update:

Please do not forget to send to the secretariat updates of action on the above item along with summary, photo, etc.
